Our prayers and sincere sympathy to Evan Hall, upon the death of his Grandmother, Betty Evans. Funeral services were held this past Wednesday. We long for the future Day when there is no more sorrow, sickness, pain, or death.

A large number of our youth (7th grade and up) and adults are attending this weekend's Southeast Winter Ski Retreat near Blowing Rock, NC. Thank to all who are working this event, and pray for their safe return home this afternoon.

We thank all those who brought canned goods to benefit our local Anderson Interfaith Ministry Food Bank. Jesus said, "When you've done for the least of these my brothers, you have done to me."

Interested in serving as a Guthrie Grove delegate to this year's Annual General Conference in the Dayton, OH area? If so, speak to Joe James or the pastor. Based on membership, we are allowed 5-6 delegates.

The Feb. 17th congregational meeting (after morning worship services) will be for the purpose of voting on the pastor, as outlined in our constitution (Every 3 yrs.).

The Feb. 24th 6 pm congregational meeting will be for the purpose of extending an offer to Pastor Jim Shaull to fill the advertised position of Associate Pastor. Please be in prayer for, and attendance at, these important meetings. Thank you.

Please mark your calendars for the upcoming Semi-annual Blood Drive. Our church benefits from participation in the Blood Assurance Program. Please come out and give the "Gift of Life" on Saturday morning, March 15th.

Congratulations to Erskine College student Lee Day upon being recently accepted to Medical School. We're proud of you, Lee.

We have members/friends who benefit from Anderson Free Clinic. In 2007, the clinic accepted over 4,200 medical or dental visits and dispensed over 40,000 prescriptions. The clinic's annual fundraiser, "Walk with the Docs", will be held Saturday, Mar 15. The Anderson location is at Anderson Civic Center, Chris Taylor Park.
