If you're interested in a new book for expectant mothers, consider Zauquis Ross' (Pastor Kent's daughter-in-law) newest work, We are Expecting! (Speak to Pastor Mike or go online- Amazon.com)

As we enter this New Year, please consider reading thru the Bible in 2009. Pick up a copy of the Bible Reading Schedule on the entryway table.

The 2009 FUEL Bible Quizzing Material has been announced. Now is a good time to familiarize yourself with the Book of James (5 chapters).

Meals on Wheels has written to thank Guthrie Grove for their generous donation of shelf stable meals. MOW has grown from delivering 30 meals per day to an average of 650 meals per day. MOW receives no federal/state funds & depends upon the generosity of the community for its survival.

"Everybody's Birthday Party" is just 3 weeks away! Mark your calendars and sign the sheet on the entryway table to attend this fun-filled evening.

We need more volunteers to be in charge of their birthday month table. Each month's table & cake should be decorated to reflect the particular month. Also, the "talent" portion of the evening (Consisting of individuals or a group from each table) should capture the spirit of the month/season).

Jim Mattison reports that several projects need completing regarding Malawi African Missions, Inc. (The printing in Blantyre of an African "Maggie (Takonda) Seeks the Kingdom of God", food shortages, building of churches, etc.) Please keep praying for the African Mission Work. Donations can be sent to MAM, 250 Stoneybrook, Pelzer, or LHI, PO Box 100,000, Morrow, GA 30260.

What Will I do Today?
Today, I will put God first in my life in all my thoughts, actions, and plans(Matt. 6:33).
Today, I will do those things that need to be done, not putting them off until tomorrow, for that is presuming upon God (James 4:13-15).
Today, I will seek God's wisdom in all my decisions (James 1:17-18).
Today, I will look to Christ with all my problems and burdens, knowing that He can give me rest (Matt. 11:28).
Today, I will refuse to worry about physical and emotional needs, knowing that God will supply all my needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19).
Today, I will worry about nothing and pray about everything (Phil. 4:6-7).
Today, I will learn to be content with what I have, resting on God's promise that He will never leave me nor forsake me (Heb. 13:5).

For the Year before Us
For the year before us, O what rich supplies!
For the poor and needy, living streams shall rise.
For the sad and sinful, shall His grace abound;
For the faint and feeble, perfect strength be found.
He will never fail us, He will not forsake;
His eternal covenant He will never break!
Resting on His promise, what have we to fear?
God is all-sufficient for the coming year.
