"Parents, please be sure your school-aged children are attending either the morning service or Junior Church. Too many youth are being found wandering about, missing out on the worship experience. Also, please note that the balcony is meant as overflow seating and is not an appropriate place for unaccompanied youth. Thanks, the Deacons."
We congratulate Carly Smith upon being selected to participate in the Anderson County Junior Leadership Program. The leadership development program is sponsored by the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, and Carly is one of only 30 high school juniors from Anderson County chosen to participate. Participants will attend various leadership training events and will be eligible to compete for scholarships. Carly also recently attended the SC Farm Bureau Youth Leadership Conference. There were 70 high school juniors and seniors from across South Carolina that were chosen to participate. During the conference, Carly was elected "Speaker of the House" during a mock legislative session, and she was one of only 4 conference attendees chosen to return next year as a "group leader".
Congratulations to Thompson Smith who was recently elected to serve a two year term as President of the Board of Directors of Clemson University's College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Sciences Alumni.
We hope to have the 2008 Birthday/Anniversary Calendars ready to distribute by Sunday, Feb. 3rd. Thanks Lynda Grant for your efforts toward this project.
