Welcome to Guthrie Grove. It's a privilege to gather freely and worship our Heavenly Father and His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus. We're glad that you are here, & pray that your faith will be strengthened as a result of worship today.

Call to Worship ~
Responsive Reading (From Psalm 27)
(L) The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?
(C) The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?
(L) One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek:
(C) That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
(L) to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
(C) In the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling.
(L) He will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.
(C) I will sing and make music to the Lord.

Thanks to all who contributed to the Palmetto 5th Grade Fieldtrip Fund. 10 students who were unable to attend will now be going to the Outer Banks, thanks to your generosity.

We welcome back Sarah Franco from her Erskine College trip to Peru, and are anxious to hear about her South American experiences.

Parents: please by sure your school-aged children are attending either the morning service or Junior Church. Too many youth are being found wandering about, missing out on the worship experience. Also, please note that the balcony is meant as overflow seating and is not an appropriate place for unaccompanied youth. Thanks, the Deacons.

"Dear Lord, during this new year, please give me a few friends who understand me and still remain my friends, a word to do that has eternal value, an understanding heart, a sense of humor, time for quiet, silent meditation on the things that really matter, the patience to wait for these things and the wisdom to recognize them when they arrive."

Please invite your family and friends to hear Dr. Mitchell Ghen in our sanctuary tonight at 6 pm. Dr. Ghen, considered one of the most educated physicians in integrated health care, will discuss the most important current information on nutrition that impacts your health. Special thanks to Mack Durham and others for coordinating this effort.
